One website at smogapp.com
The website and the station app now live at one address, smogapp.com, with a new look. Old app.smogapp.com links, and the phone apps you already have, keep working.
Newest first.
The website and the station app now live at one address, smogapp.com, with a new look. Old app.smogapp.com links, and the phone apps you already have, keep working.
If a station is suspended, the iPhone app now says so plainly and explains which features are off.
Bring a car’s past smog tests into SmogScanner. On the phone, look the car up on the BAR site and save the history. On the computer, upload the VIR PDFs from Cal-VIS under Customers, then Import.
Photos that customers send now show right in the message thread, on iPhone and on the computer.
The iPhone app got a customer page with call, text and new work order buttons. Work orders save as you type and come back when you reopen them. iPad shows the order list and the order side by side. New license-plate app icon on iPhone and Android.
A purchase order (PO) number on the work order now shows on the invoice. After an import, SmogScanner offers to invite those customers to get reminders from SmogCheckDeals. Stations connected to SmogCheckDeals also see an Open times today card. It texts customers to fill today’s empty times.
Messages from drivers who find you on SmogCheckDeals now arrive in a new Inbox on the computer, iPhone and Android. Reply right there.
Text the customer a link to pay the invoice on their phone. You can also sell prepaid vouchers and take them as payment.
Turn on a walk-in line in Settings. Work orders then show who is waiting, in order, with buttons to call the next car, start the test and finish.
Add fail codes and photos to a failed test, and choose which photos show on the customer’s report. A second retest reminder can go out automatically. Type the registration date from the DMV notice on the work order.
Send a deal to customers who are due for smog or who failed and have not come back. Texts to customers go out in the language they speak.
The computer, iPhone and Android apps all work in Spanish. Pick your language in the app. Estimates, the signing screen and receipts show in the customer’s own language.
New reports for pass and fail, revenue, each technician, where customers came from, coupons, your monthly goal and customer feedback. Save any of them as a CSV file.
Import your customers straight from Smog Advantage, Smog Master or Smog Pro exports. A new Due for smog list shows who to call, and you can import last smog dates.
Take photos on the work order. Scan the VIR printout to fill in the test. A failed car gets next steps, a retest discount and a reminder text. Your own terms print on estimates and invoices. A returning car shows its last visit, ready to repeat at today’s prices.
Your BAR license is checked against the state register when you set up the station. Choose your program area so every scan picks the right test. A closed station can be brought back within 90 days.
Get the Android app from smogapp.com/download, or join the iPhone test version through TestFlight. On a computer, scan the code on the page with your phone.
Take payments on the invoice and see the day’s totals by cash, card and check. Save prices, packages and business accounts. Export to QuickBooks and track technician commissions. The customer signs the estimate before work starts.
One account can run more than one station, with a station switcher on the computer and iPhone. The phone can also read a driver’s license and the DMV renewal notice.
On iPhone, create your station, invite your team, set your hours and a monthly goal, ask customers how it went, and import your customer book from a spreadsheet.
The iPhone app is out as a test version through TestFlight. The customer’s address now prints on the invoice.
Anyone can now create an account and a station on their own at smogapp.com. The iPhone camera reads the plate or VIN by itself, and you can still type it by hand.
The first version: scan a VIN, see the car and the smog test it needs, and keep work orders, customers and settings on the computer.
