Billing and plans
Scanning a VIN is free. Work orders, invoices and reports come with a paid plan.
What each plan covers
- Free: scanning a VIN and seeing the smog test the car needs, plus 10 typed plate lookups a day.
- Starter: adds work orders, estimates, invoices and payments, for one station.
- Pro: adds Reports, reading plates with the iPhone camera, and the Live scan wall.
- Multi-station: everything in Pro, for up to five stations.
Change your plan
- Click Billing in the menu.
- Under Plan, find the plan you want and click Switch to that plan. You see the price before you pay.
- Pay with a card on the secure Stripe page that opens.
To see past invoices or change the card, click Invoices and card. Only the station owner can change the plan or open the billing portal. Everyone else can see which plan the station is on.
Card numbers are typed on Stripe’s page, not ours. SmogScanner never sees or keeps them.
