Start a work order
Every car that comes in gets a work order. It holds the car, the customer, the test, the estimate and the payment.
On the computer
- Click New order. You find it on Work orders, on the Dashboard and on the Live wall.
- A new order opens right away. It starts as a walk-in.
- Under Vehicle, click Add by plate or VIN and type the plate or the VIN.
- Under Customer, pick the customer. If they have no record, leave Walk-in, no customer record.
- Pick the Test type.
- Type anything the technician should know in Notes, then click Save notes.
To say how the customer found you, click the small arrow next to New order first. It asks How did they hear about us? and you pick Walk-in, Phone, Web or Deals booking.
From a scan on the phone
After you scan a car, tap Start work order on the result. This works on iPhone and Android. The car is already on the order.
